I've been meaning to post a few things the last week or two... Writing my blog can really relax me but reading and writing thesis my brain just wants to turn into pudding.... Watching TV dramas (( Rebound )) and Naruto have been supporting me.
A few weeks ago Saturday I got a call from my Professor asking if I could get some of my seminar class to help volunteer in an area of Chiba that had been hit by the Tsunami..
Besides all the TV and YouTube videos and actually haven't seem the real damage by the Tsunami..
Our job was to "dig out" the leftover sand that the Tsunami brought in with it....
The area we were assigned was the inside of a storage shed.. This picture was taken after moving their items......
It is also hard to see by the picture but the sea water had actually come up to the red line..
It was quite a job...But we did finish...
The older couple of the house were very happy... Although the didn't have a lot the grandmother gave us some Onigiri ( Rice Balls ) and Tea....
A job well done....
Anyone that is wanting to volunteer in Asahi ( Chiba ) just comment on my posting and I can direct you the the right person.
NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED !
